ZEP-PINK, Border Crossing project, GIDE 2017/18

The domestic environment has been reiterated countless times in the mediums of art and design. Through our installation, ZEP-PINK, we prove that there is still new material to be explored. Hosted by Dundee Contemporary Arts, the exhibition ‘Step Across the Border’, encourages visitors to explore their boundaries by providing provocative installations that question every day domestic environments. ZEP-PINK, has taken influence from Allan Wexler’s work, in that every day domestic objects are modified drastically yet undetectably. This encourages the viewer to reach out and examine what has been altered, however they will discover that these items are out of their grasp – an analogy for the limitations of life in that the visitor is capable of reaching only the realistic objects, never beyond.
